Brown peas are typical Latvian dish eaten during Christmas eve and I am actually not sure if people from other countries are familiar with brown peas, but why not to make hummus out of them?
- 1 cup (250 ml) of boiled brown peas (first you have to soak them overnight and then boil for approx. 1 hour)
- 50 ml soy cream
- 1 garlic clove
- 1/4 of juice of a lemon
- spices – salt, black pepper, garlic powder (up to taste)
And process everything in a food processor! This is not even a great variation of hummus, but maybe also a good version of updated Latvian Christmas dish haha. Check 3 other hummus versions here:
