Easter is almost here and everyone is already starting to get excited about Easter eggs and other traditions during this celebration. However, for vegans this holiday is a bit different, but it doesn’t mean that it cannot be delicious and fun. Therefore, I would like to share some of the Easter chocolate egg recipes you can try at home by using Oreo cookies.
Let’s start with my favourite ones…
Creamy Oreo eggs
Coconut cream mixed with Oreo cookies and covered in dark chocolate. Sounds yummy already, right? For this recipe you will need an egg shaped mould. (If you don’t have one, you can improvise with egg holders or other plastic forms where used to be some easter decorations or chocolate.)
- cream from 1 can coconut milk
- 2 bars (200g) dark chocolate
- approx. 10 Oreo cookies
- 1-2 tablesp. powder sugar (optional)
- 2 teasp. melted dark chocolate (optional)
Start by melting the chocolate and place it in the mould. Make sure it is in an even layer especially on the edges, so it doesn’t break easily. Let it cool down in the fridge and meanwhile prepare the filling. First smash Oreos in smaller pieces. Then take out from the fridge previously refrigerated can of coconut milk and remove the cream part. Add sugar and melted chocolate (optional) and mix it all together. Then add Oreo cookies and mix it again. Place the filling in an egg shaped chocolate and cover it with melted chocolate in an even layer (knife can help to ensure that layer is even). Refrigerate it for a while. Lastly take them out from the mould and stick together with melted chocolate.

Oreo Cookie Eggs covered with Chocolate
Very simple idea of making Oreo cookie eggs covered in dark chocolate. You won’t need chocolate mould, but you will need food processor or blender.
- 1 pack Oreo cookies
- 2-3 tablesp. coconut oil
- 1 bar (100g) dark chocolate
Process Oreo cookies in the food processor or blender until they reach sandy consistency. Add coconut oil and process for few seconds again. Shape this mixture in a form of eggs and let it cool down for couple of minutes in the fridge. As last, cover with melted dark chocolate from all sides.

And as last, the simplest ‘recipe’ or let’s say ‘idea’ is Oreo chocolate. This will work perfectly for those who are fans of Oreo cookies and chocolate, and are lazy at the same time. Furthermore, so far I haven’t seen any vegan options for Oreo chocolate in the shops, so this might be an easy and great solution.
- 5 Oreo cookies
- 1 bar (100g) dark chocolate
Start by melting the chocolate. Meanwhile smash Oreo cookies into smaller pieces. Mix chocolate and cookies together and place in chocolate mould. Cool it down in the fridge for couple of minutes. (I told you – it will be very easy!)
